A big thanks goes out to our awesome Remodelers Council members for putting on the March Remodelers Showcase & Dinner! Clark County Prosecuting Attorney, Tony Gulik, and Elder Justice Center Coordinator, Dianna Kretzschmar, gave us an enlightening and thrilling discussion on elder abuse in Clark County. Dinner attendees received an insightful understand into certain disabilities and what seniors and disabled persons deal with on a daily basis. Some great information and moving stories accompanied a delicious dinner and some positive networking as we were all able to take something good away from the program.
The BIA Remodelers Council was excited to highlight a community project that they had been working on with a local family in need. Emotions ran high as Dan Le Sieur, Remodelers Council Vice-Chair, announced awards and recognition of some of the remodelers and associates involved with renovating a bathroom for a disabled Vietnam Veteran that was deeply in need of a helping hand.
The Remodelers partnership with the Elder Justice Center represents an active role in preventing abuse through education, awareness, and understanding. The Remodelers offers several builder courses related to Aging in Place including our CAPS I and CAPS II courses. The Remodelers are committed to being advocates in the community in the fight against illegitimate people taking advantage of seniors in need of home modifications.
Credit for this project goes to the many people and suppliers who contributed time and materials to this job.
